Up The Credit matched stablemate Warrawee Needy's Canadian season's record of 1:48.3 with a wire-to-wire effort in a $24,000 conditioned event on Saturday night at Woodbine Racetrack.

Carl Jamieson trainee Warrawee Needy established Canada's fastest mile of the 2013 season on May 4 at Woodbine Racetrack, and while he was away finishing just a nose short in the Meadowlands Maturity, barn buddy Up The Credit put on a speed show on their home turf.

Firing to command from post seven in the field of eight, millionaire pacer Up The Credit and catch-driver Billy Davis Jr. blazed through fractions of :26, :54.2, and 1:21.4 in the 11th dash en route to the 1:48.3 triumph. The speedy score established a new mark for the five-year-old son of Western Terror.

Up The Credit paid $6.90 to win as the 5-2 second choice. Odysseus Bluechip and Randy Waples finished one and a half lengths behind in second off a pocket trip and favourite Ok Commander, with Doug McNair aboard, was third.

The win was Up The Credit's second (consecutive) in six seasonal starts.

Carl Jamieson shares ownership of the former North America Cup champion with Thomas Kyron, Brian Paquet, and Joanne Morrison.

The speed show continued throughout the card with other impressive miles posted by North America Cup eligible Vegas Vacation, who scored a dazzling 1:49.3 victory, aged pacing mare Big Mcdeal winning in 1:50.1, and older trotter E W Fisher, a 10-1/2 length winner in 1:52.2 from the outside post position.

Vegas Vacation, Canada's fastest sophomore pacer so far this year, is the 12-1 sixth choice in Trot Magazine's 2013 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book. He was driven by Scott Zeron for conditioner Casie Coleman and owners West Wins Stable, Adriano Sorella, Anthony Beaton, and Phyllis Saunders.

Trained by Ben Wallace for Brad Grant, Big McDeal bested the national season's mark for pacing mares with Steve Condren returning to the sulky.

The Quebec-bred six-year-old E W Fisher established himself as the fastest trotter in Canada so far this season with his massive mile for trainer-driver Rick Zeron and owners Lise Lang and Saul Mendelson.
