Track record holder Timberline Court doubled up in the $8,500 Open Pace for trainer-driver Gerry Hudon while putting forth his second fastest winning mile on Saturday afternoon at Alberta Downs.

The popular With Held-Bon Temps gelding took the lead after the :27.2 opening quarter and never looked back as he paced by middle splits of :56.2 and 1:24 while building up a four length lead over his seven foes. Timberline Court closed out the winning mile with a :28.4 final frame over the 'good' surface to stop the clock in 1:52.4. Flak Jacket (Jamie Gray) rallied three-wide from the backfield and came on for second, finishing just over two lengths behind. Neal Diamonique (Jim Marino) closed from second over to grab third-place honours.

Timberline Court boasts a 1:51.3 co-track record mark for older pacers, taken last year at Alberta Downs, and recorded his other 1:52.4 winning mile in an Alberta Sires Stakes elimination at Northlands Park back in his debut season at three.

Hudon also co-owns the brown pacer, who is four-for-nine during his seven-year-old campaign and has banked nearly $22,000, with R. Lynn Kowalevsky of Airdrie, Alta. Timberline Court paid $2.40 to win for the 25th time in his career. The lion's share of the purse boosted his lifetime bankroll to $287,469.
