Mired in a season-long winless streak spanning five races, Jans Luck took charge Friday at The Meadows, scoring a front-end victory in the $22,500 Filly & Mare Not Listed Preferred/Preferred Handicap Pace
in 1:51.3, her fastest since 2010.
Jans Luck blazed to the lead for Dave Palone, but was stalked from the pocket by her archrival, Spring Break. When Spring Break broke stride at the top of the lane, Jans Luck was home free, drawing off to down Moonlite Delight by over three lengths. Clear Character was third.
Ron Burke trains the eight-year-old daughter of Camluck-Jans Scooter, who now boasts $984,463 in career earnings, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC, JJK Stables and M1 Stable.
