Last week, the longest shot on the board prevailed in the top class at Northside Downs. On Saturday, May 18, the favourites were foiled once again with the second longest shot getting the job done for his connections and supporters.

The field of six that went postward in the $1,600 Winners Over Pace featured the same half dozen pacers as last week, so it's a bit surprising that rail starter David Lloyd George went off at 7-1 odds this week after finishing second by a head on May 11. Keigan Madden had all the confidence in the seven-year-old gelding this week, placing him on top and playing a stern game of catch me if you can.

After fractions of :30.1, 1:00.4 and 1:30.2, David Lloyd George paced home in :30.1 to trip the timer in 2:00.3. Rockinforreal was next best for Jason MacNeil, with Keeperoftherealm (Ryan Campbell) rounding out the triactor.

Owned by Madden along with trainer Harold LeBlanc Jr. and Siena Forance, David Lloyd George (American Ideal - Windsun Celestial) picked up his second win of the season and 16th lifetime, lifting his earnings to $90,045. As the 7-1 choice, he returned $16.50 to win.
