Distinctiv Rusty and driver Dale Spence shot through the passing lane to prevail in the Friday night feature at Truro Raceway for the Rennison family.
Goliath Reign got the first call leaving from post four to set up shop on the front end in the $1,675 Winners Over Pace. He cruised through a :29.1 opening panel with Distinctiv Rusty following in second and Woodmere Finesse positioned third.
As the field moved in front of the grandstand, Woodmere Finesse moved first-up and challenged to take second-place as Goliath Reign continued to reign on top through a half in :58.3 and three-quarters in 1:27.2.
However, Distinctiv Rusty stole the show as he shot through the passing lane to defeat Goliath Reign to the wire in 1:57 by three-quarters of a length while Woodmere Finesse settled for third.
'Rusty' is trained by George Rennison and owned by Andrea Rennison and Ryder Matthews Rennison. The seven-year-old son of Rambaran now boasts two wins and two seconds from his first four starts of the season.
