Meadows invader Mythical Hall trotted the fastest mile of the Buffalo Raceway meet winning the $11,000 Open in 1:57.3 on Friday night (May 17).

The win was the fourth in 14 attempts this season for Mythical Hall, a five-year-old Andover Hall gelding trained by J.D. Perrin and owned by Mark Jakubik.

Driver Kevin Cummings put Mythical Hall ($4.90), the 9-5 second choice in the betting, on the lead and he set all the fractions in the race of :28.2, :57.4, and 1:27.4 to the three-quarter marker. A :29.4 last quarter-mile put the winner two lengths ahead of second-place finisher Under The Stars (Ron Beback Jr.) at the finish line. Serious George (Dave McNeight III) came in third.

The $5,500 winner's share of the purse put Mythical Hall’s seasonal earnings at $36,872 and lifetime bankroll at $300,468. The win was his 13th in 60 lifetime starts.
