Jody Jamieson put the pedal to the metal early with When You Dance, and the gelding responded with a gate-to-wire score in a career-best clocking of 1:51.3.
When You Dance shot to the lead from Post 6 and successfully sliced out splits of :27, :55.4 and 1:24.1 before storming home in :27.2 to win by 2-1/4 lengths over Atomic Seelster. Scouts Report enjoyed a ground-saving trip throughout and finished third.
Sent off as the 3-5 favourite, the three-year-old son of Mach Three-Armbro Dancer won for the fourth time in his career for Wallacestandardbreds Inc, Daniel Plouffe and Birnam Wood Farms. The homebred, who hangs his harness bag in the barn of trainer Ben Wallace, pushed his lifetime earnings to $48,762 with the win.
