Rhapsody Rose Wins Rosecroft Open

The Twin Ponds Stable's Rhapsody Rose secured win 39 of her career in the $10,000 Open Handicap Pace for mares on Wednesday night (May 17) at Rosecroft Raceway.

Regular pilot Roger Plante was in the bike for trainer Brian Fisher as the 11-year-old mare sat the pocket while KG Rocks (Frank Milby) fought gamely first-over against pacesetter Breadcrumb Income (Brian Burton).

Rhapsody Rose won in 1:52 by a neck over Breadcrumb Income, with KG Rocks finishing a length back in third.

She was one of two winners on the night for Plante.

Trainer/driver Steve LeBlanc won a Maryland Sire Stakes preliminary with Holy Trout setting a new Sire Stakes standard for three-year-old filly trotters in 1:57. The Holy Guacamolie filly is owned and was bred by Dr. William Solomon.

Russell Foster secured the three-year-old colt preliminary with Mr Ham Sandwich for owner/breeder Brian Emerson and trainer Judy Welty in 1:55.

Burton had a driving-training double, Timmy Offut and Foster had driving doubles, while John Bell had a training double.
