Three-year-old Allies Western filly Miss Valerie extended her career unbeaten streak to 11 on Wednesday, May 16 at Rosecroft Raceway. The bay miss recorded a two and a half-length victory in 1:56.2 during a $6,500 non-wagering split of the Maryland Sire Stakes.
The Steven Leblanc-trained and Roger Plante Jr.-driven Miss Valerie started from Post 3 and was forwardly-placed through splits of :27.4, :57 and 1:26.1. The filly fired from second in the final quarter and cruised home with a :30.1 final quarter. She is owned by Leblanc Racing Inc. (of Felton, DE), Count De Money Stable (Clinton, PA) and William P. Lutz Jr. (Clinton, PA).
On the wagering program, Katies Rocker scorched the Rosecroft stonedust in the featured $8,500 Winners-Over Pace. The four-year-old Rocknroll Hanover gelding nailed the wire in 1:50.4 for owner Howard Taylor (Philadelphia, PA).
Roger Plante drove Katies Rocker for Michael Hall, who had two wins on the card. Plante also had two wins on the card. Russell Foster had three wins on the night and Brian Burton notched two.
