.
With Kevin Switzer, Jr. driving for part-owner and trainer Tracy Brainard, Bunny In The Bank ($6.60) raced as if she was the best, and then proved it with a front-ending victory over hard-charging Ellleofnxample in this week’s Open contest for female pacers.
Thursday’s 1:51.3 triumph marked the first this season and the 20th all-time for the fleet-footed six-year-old mare, who increased her career winning to $372,789. The bay daughter of Astreos-Bunny Dearest is also owned by Andrew Herzog.
Jimmy Whittemore steered four winners during Thursday’s 12-race card, joining Rick Plano as the only drivers to capture more than three events on a single program at the nine-night meeting. Switzer and Brainard collected three wins each, while Frank Davis won both halves of the early double.
