Marion Miss Julie worked out a pocket trip, then charged through the Lightning Lane to capture Wednesday’s $22,500 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows

Jumping up from the claiming ranks at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Marion Miss Julie duelled with Nickie K for the early lead before settling in the two-hole. Under Dave Palone’s urging, the 9-5 favourite brushed inside to down Nickie K by a neck in 1:55.3. Long shot JC Mik Mac Jillio rallied for show.
Neal Ehrhart trains Marion Miss Julie, a seven-year-old daughter of SJs Photo-Millennium Miss who extended her career bankroll to $265,466, for Keystone Trotters.
Brett Miller and Palone each drove three winners on the 15-race card.
