There’s been no stopping Get Thereovernight in recent weeks at Century Downs, and it was more of the same on Monday evening as he captured his third straight win in the $10,000 Open Pace.
Trainer/driver Kelly Hoerdt mapped out a sweet, pocket trip for Get Thereovernight while Read The Proposal rolled the field through fractions of :27.3, :57.2 and 1:25.3. Get Thereovernight popped off the pylons late and used a :29.2 closing quarter to prevail by 2-1/4 lengths over Justabitcrazy in 1:55.2. Pillage And Burn claimed the show dough in the six-horse affair.
Sent off as the 2-5 favourite, Get Thereovernight improved this year’s record to 5-1-2 from eight starts. Hoerdt shares ownership on the six-year-old son of Clintons Cigar-Express Overnite with Peter Giannakopoulos and Blair Corbeil. The 22-time winner has banked $222,669 to date.
