Do you know the Muffin Man? Oh K Man, affectionately known as "Muffin," and driver Marc St. Louis Jr., took the Saturday night (May 13) $10,800 featured Open Handicap Pace at Northville Downs for the second straight week.
Oh K Man scored in wire-to-wire fashion after fractions of :27.3, :56.4, 1:25 and a final clocking of 1:54.3, holding off a late surge from Catch Me Conrad. Jets Sureshot rallied for third.
The win was the 44th in Oh K Man's career and pushed his career earnings to $306,207. He is owned by Julie Neil and trained by Danielle St. Louis.
In Race 6, the Open 3 Pace, McFehr and driver Jason Merriman went wire-to-wire in victory in 1:56.3 over rivals No Pulse Richie and Diesel Accelerator. McFehr is owned and trained by Will Johnson. It marked McFehr’s 18th win.
The Open 2 Pace was taken from off the pace by Bluebird Pacific and Merriamn in 1:56 for owner Casey Wolfe and trainer Craig Wolfe. Rockin TJ finished second and GabeThe Babe settled for third. For Bluebird Pacific, it was career win No. 25.
Merriman scored a driving triple while Kody Massey had a driving double.
Racing at Northville resumes Friday, May 19 at 7 p.m. (EDT). Friday night is dollar night with $1 live programs, $1 pop, $1 popcorn, $2 hot dogs and beer, as well as hamburger and cheeseburger specials. Northville Downs races every Friday and Saturday night from now until Sept. 30 with a 7 p.m. post time.
