Favourite Abby Rose ($3.30) and driver Ridge Warren won the $10,500 fillies and mares featured pace at Tioga Downs on Friday, May 12.

Vicious Circle (Wally Hennessey) got the first call, but Abby Rose took command and led to the quarter in 26 seconds. She used a :28.2 second quarter to lead to the half in :54.2 then started to open it up as she cruised to three-quarters in 1:22.4. As they made the turn for home, Pearl Harbour N (Mike Merton) found a late opening and came all out after the leader, but Abby Rose was too strong and equalled her lifetime mark of 1:52.1. Pearl Harbour N had to settle for second while Vicious Circle was third best.

Abby Rose is a five-year-old mare by Heston Blue Chip.  She is owned by Mali Norbye and trained by Randy Taft.  The win was her second (consecutive) this season in 10 starts and she now has 13 career victories.

Brandon Parker, Wally Hennessey and Greg Merton each had driving doubles on the card.

Live harness racing returns on Saturday with a 10-race card starting at 6:15 p.m.
