The Richard Moreau-trained Mach Of Ballykeel sat fifth through the first half while My Man Charley served up early fractions of :28, :57.2 and 1:25.2. Mach Of Ballykeel kicked home in :28.4 en route to posting the win by three-quarters of a length over My Man Charley. Third prize went to Nothingbutmach.
Ballykeel Racing Inc and Mach Of Ballykeel Stable of Tillsonburg own the homebred who won for the third time this season and for the 20th time in his career. The six-year-old son of Mach Three-Teig N Reilly has banked more than $360,000 in his career.
Clic K was a front-stepping winner in the $7,000 Preferred 3 for the duo of driver Ryan Holliday and trainer Ben Wallace. The six-year-old son of Shanghai Phil-Eclatante sliced out splits of :27.3, :57.3 and 1:26.3 before coasting home in :30.3 to win by 1-1/2 lengths in 1:57.1. Guiness Seelster was next best, with Stoney Durkin taking home the show dough.
Brad Grant of Milton, Ontario owns the 29-time winner who broke into the win column for the first time this season from 11 attempts. The pacer has banked more than $310,000 to date.
