Kashas Kid turned the tables on Stormont O My Wednesday night in Sudbury Downs' $11,000 Not Listed
Preferred Trot.
One week ago, the five-year-old gelded son of Andover Hall-Kasha Hanover tried to haul down pacesetter Stormont O My, but he endured broken equipment and couldn’t get the job done. This time around, driver Gerry Belanger sent Kashas Kid straight to the lead from Post 2 while Stormont O My began her first over attack after getting away sixth from the outside post. Kashas Kid carved out panels of :28.3, :59.3 and 1:28.3 en route to a 1:58.1 victory with Stormont O My following under the wire, 1-1/2 lengths behind. Apeachtoremember (Anthony MacDonald) finished third.
Kashas Kid returned $8.90 to win as the second most popular choice in the field of six. Belanger trains the winner of four races in 11 seasonal starts and $26,825 for owner Rene Allard. Tonight, the black gelding notched his 16th lifetime win and pushed his bankroll over the $150,000 mark.
