Brian Malone's Hostess Lisa was a 1:52.4 winner in Tuesday’s $15,000 Mares Open at Harrington Raceway.

Hostess Lisa and driver Tony Morgan left from post position four and took the lead before the opening quarter mile from Dublin Rose and proceeded to set the fractions while Springforth battled first over, but could not get to the leader as Hostess Lisa prevailed by a half-length margin. Dublin Rose was second with Springforth third.

Hostess Lisa is trained by her owner, who teamed up with Morgan for another win earlier in the card as Malone and Carrie Stackowitz's Mccarma ($3.60, Morgan) registered her third consecutive win, despite not drawing better than post six.

Longshot players were treated to a healthy fourth race payoff as 45-to-1 Miss Read, winner via disqualification, spearheaded a $4,079 (8-2) exacta and $5,325 (8-2-5) trifecta. The (8-2-5-7) superfecta paid $9,745 for a $1-based bet.

Ross Wolfenden and Montrell Teague each had three wins on the program. Morgan and George Dennis each had a driving double.

Once again the pick 5 (a 50-cent based wager that spans race 7-11) went uncovered and aided by a carryover of $4,535, there will be a $10,000 guaranteed pool on the Wednesday program.
