The 2019 Buckeye Stallion Series launched on Wednesday afternoon (May 1) with nine $17,500 divisions of Ohio-bred sophomore fillies: five for pacers and four for trotters.
This first-leg action was the first of four preliminary sessions — scheduled for Miami Valley, Scioto Downs, Northfield Park and the Delaware (Ohio) County Fair — all leading up to the $60,000 finals at Hollywood Dayton Raceway on Sept. 29.
Pacing winners were Heythere Lisamarie (Brett Miller, 1:54.4, $3.80), Officially My Way (Jason Thompson, 1:53.4, $5.60), Rock Me Cristal (Cameron McCown, 1:53.3, $14.20), Slymars Dragon (Mark Evers, 1:53.3, $6.80) and Rocking Zoe (Kayne Kauffman, 1:54.4, $11.80).
