Insanity returned to the winner’s circle for the first time since his seasonal debut with a commanding victory in the featured $10,400 optional-claiming trot at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Wednesday, March 8.

The gelding immediately burst to the front and was never threatened in a gate-to-wire victory. Piloted by Samuel Fillion, Insanity put up first-half panels of :29.4 and 1:00, then took off to three-quarters in 1:28.3 to leave behind the first-over Royal Beluga (Brady Galliers), who broke stride on the backstretch. With the leader enjoying a sizable advantage rounding the final turn, he cruised to the line to win by 2-3/4 lengths in 1:58.4. Duke Deo (Anthony Hamlin) finished second, followed by the closing Stonebridge Zeus (Tyler Borth).

Insanity won for the second time from nine starts in 2026 for trainer Ben Hollingsworth and owner Michael Goldberg of Toronto, Ont. The son of Muscle Mass-Appleby Hall is now 28-for-176 lifetime and has amassed earnings of $303,517. He returned $3.70 at the windows.
