After six weeks off, post eight was no problem for Amigo Volo as the Meg Crone student rocketed to the top and won every panel en route to victory in the $36,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday, April 8.
Amigo Volo and Tyler Borth commanded the timer through panels in :27.1, :57.1 and 1:26 before prevailing at the wire by a half length in 1:52.4 over a fast-closing Southwind Coors (Chris Christoforou). Looks Like Moni (James MacDonald) closed sharply to complete the triactor.
Pinske Stables and David Miller co-own the seven-year-old Father Patrick-Margarita Momma gelding, who recorded his fourth straight victory in six starts this season. In 90 career starts, Amigo Volo has banked $2,453,426 from a record 36-21-12. At 3-1 odds, he returned $8.50 to win.
