Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park will be moving the opening night of the live harness racing season in Charlottetown to Saturday, May 2.
First-race post time will be 6 p.m.
The decision, which was made after consulting with the PEI Harness Racing Industry Association and the PEI Standardbred Horses Owners Association, was based on the horses' training schedules that were affected over the past two months due to winter storms.
Qualifying sessions are now scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m. and Tuesday April 28 at 1 p.m. in Charlottetown.
Red Shores Summerside will hold a qualifying session on Sunday, April 26 at 1 p.m.
