On Friday, April 2 at Rideau Carleton Raceway, young up-and-coming driver Sebastien Turenne captured his first lifetime win with Baia Hanover for trainer John MacMillan

.

Bet down to 60 cents on the dollar, Turenne and Baia Hanover started from Post 4 in a $7,200 conditioned event. The duo got off the gate in good order and worked their way into the two-hole throughout the first three quarters of the tilt. The pair would eventually get out in the late stages of the race and go on to post a one and a half-length victory in 1:59.

“Sebastien is an enthusiastic young driver that handles a horse beautifully,” MacMillan said. “It is a very tough driving colony to break into at Rideau Carleton. If Sebastien gets some power to drive, he will win more than his share.”
