Canada's 2025 Elitloppet invitee Logan Park was back in action on Monday, April 7 at Woodbine Mohawk Park in his second qualifier of the season.
Trained by Kyle Fellows, the two-time O'Brien Award winner as older male trotter of the year ramped up for his seven-year-old campaign with a 1:55.1 qualifying victory on a fast track under sunny skies, following up on a 1:57.2 pylon-skimming pocket score in his March 31 debut in 'good' conditions.
Regular driver Doug McNair put Logan Park on the point this time out ahead of two other trotters and set fractions of :29.2, :59.3 and 1:28.1 before accelerating off the final turn to complete the mile with a :27 last quarter. Former Kentucky stakes winner Djimon tried to keep up in his second seasonal qualifier but finished 5-1/2 lengths behind in rein to Bob McClure while last year's Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots champion Grambling Hall charted his own mile in third with Tyler Borth in the bike.
A career winner of 36 races and more than $2 million, Logan Park is among five horses currently confirmed to compete in next month's Elitloppet, along with Sweden's Francesco Zet and Borups Victory, France's Go On Boy and Australia's The Locomotive. The race is scheduled for Sunday, May 25 at Solvalla Racecourse.
Logan Park, a gelded son of Archangel out of the Muscle Mass mare Rite Outa The Park, is owned by Outofthepark Stable of Rockwood, Ont., breeder Reg Higgs of Blenheim, Ont., and Arpad Szabo of Bradford, Ont.
