In advance of live harness racing kicking off later this month, the first qualifiers will be held this weekend at Canada's newest racetrack, Century Downs Racetrack & Casino.
Qualifiers will be conducted for those interested on Saturday, April 11 at 1:00 p.m. To enter, contact the Century Downs race office at 403-466-4599.
This past weekend, the first horse paced over the Century Downs surface. The answer to that future trivia question: Meadowlark Mr Bert, with trainer-driver Carl Archibald.
"Both Carl and Rod Hennessy were very impressed with the track, and in particular the turns and banking," Race Secretary Jackson Wittup told Trot Insider.
With the casino side opening to rave reviews last week, Century Downs' will hold its grand opening for harness racing on Saturday, April 25.
