Delightful Yankee, The Hitman Heart and Hercules captured the $19,000 conditioned trotting features at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Monday, April 6, each notching their second win of the season.
Delightful Yankee kept her perfect career record intact, doubling her total with a 1:56.4 score in the first co-feature. Bob McClure sent her forward early, but the filly was shuffled to fourth behind a succession of lead changes through a :29.1 first quarter. Delightful Yankee shifted out on the backstretch, taking the cover of Loyal Leo (Paul MacDonell) to the half in :58.3 until that rival cleared nearing the last turn. Delightful Yankee then glided past him to take over at three-quarters in 1:27.3, kicked away down the lane, and rolled home to score in 1:56.4. Rico Tubbs (Mark MacDonald) closed for place over Loyal Leo.
The winning daughter of Muscle Hill-Darlene Hanover has earned $18,500 in two wins from two starts. Luc Blais trains the filly for Determination of Montreal, Que. The win price was $3.20.
The Hitman Heart swept past horses in the stretch to take his second lifetime win in the second featured event. Trevor Henry dropped the four-year-old son of Green Manalishi S-Rite Outa The Park in third early and kept him in that spot through fractions of :28, :58.2, and 1:28.1 until making his move approaching three-quarters. The Hitman Heart swelled up, and the gelding finished in :27.2 to pass pacesetter Kinnder Icecube (McClure) and prevail by three-quarters of a length in 1:56.1. Kinnder Icecube finished second over Green Nineteen (Todd Ratchford).
The winner is now two-for-seven on the season. The gelding, owned and trained by Kyle Bossence of Arthur, Ont., missed most of 2025 but returned in December and broke his maiden in February. The young half-sibling to O'Brien Award winners Logan Park and Willys Home Run has won twice and earned $36,093 in 12 career outings. He returned $9.50 at the windows.
Hercules improved to two-for-two in 2026, beating out Wolfpack Crown in a deep-stretch duel in the final co-feature. He started fourth for Tyler Jones while Dont Chang My Naam (Daryl Thiessen) pushed forward to command before the quarter in :28.1. After sitting on the pylons through the half in :58.4, Hercules advanced on the cover of Tomboy Strong (Mark MacDonald) past three-quarters in 1:28 and into mid-stretch. He then took flight on the outside and out-kicked Tomboy Strong to take the lead while Wolfpack Crown (McClure) emerged at the rail. Those two battled to the line, and Hercules prevailed by a head in 1:56.2. Tomboy Strong finished third.
Hercules, a five-year-old son of Lookslikeachpndale-Noblesse, won for the eighth time in 29 career starts. Justin Turcotte conditions the gelding, who has now earned $50,756 for owner-breeder Ecurie Provoquante of Mirabel, Que. The win payout was $11.20.
Muchtooyoungforyou ($19.80) captured the $18,000 Pop-Up Series final, escaping traffic in mid-stretch and closing to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:54.3. Trevor Henry drove the four-year-old mare for trainer Terry Gallant and owner Calvin Kuepfer of Millbank, Ont. The series was for pacing fillies and mares in for a claiming tag of $7,500.
