Reb The Raider carried his winning momentum into Sunday's featured finale at Flamboro Downs -- the $7,500 Preferred 3 Pace -- and he prevailed from the pocket in a close finish.

Leaving from the inside post, Reb The Raider gave way to 4-5 favourite Mach It Big early on and followed that foe through fractions of :28.4, :58 and 1:27.2.

Meanwhile, Stonebridge Adam advanced first over from fourth and he began to edge ahead of the pacesetter around the final turn while Reb The Raider tipped out on his back.

As the field turned into the stretch, Reb The Raider rallied by on the outside and scored the neck victory over Stonebridge Adam in 1:57 flat. Putnams New Year closed from last along the pylons for the final podium position, finishing just ahead of Mach It Big.

Bob McClure worked out the winning trip aboard 6-1 shot Reb The Raider ($15.80) for trainer Colonel Schneider Jr. and owner Doris McMillan.

The six-year-old Rambaran gelding recently rejoined the Schneider Jr. stable after a $5,000 claim landed him in the Patrick Shepherd barn for one start in late March. He has since won three consecutive races at three different tracks - The Raceway at the Western Fair District, Woodbine Racetrack and Flamboro Downs.

Sunday's win was his fourth in 11 starts this year and ninth lifetime.
