According to a release from Vernon Downs, the track's management is currently negotiating a new contract in good faith with the Harness Horse Association of
Central New York.
The release states that the contract expired on March 31, but the New York State Racing and Wagering Board approved race dates through the end of April in order to allow more time for the sides to reach an agreement.
Stall Applications Available
Stall applications are now available online and in the race office at Vernon Downs.
If you plan on applying for stalls for the 2011 race season, please fax your application in by Monday, April 11 to 315-829-3364.
Vernon will kick off its 90-day race meet on Friday, April 15 with a first-race post time of 7:00 p.m.
