The first charted line of the season for Uncle Peter was an eye-catching one for the Jimmy Takter trainee who trotted his mile in 1:54 during Thursday’s qualifying session at Pocono Downs.
The favourite in last year’s Hambletonian shot to the top for Takter and sliced out intervals of :28, :57.4 and 1:25.3 before stepping home in :28.3 en route to the victory by 13-3/4 lengths.
Uncle Peter went 4-for-12 last season and is a combined 8-for-18 in his career. The four-year-old son of Cantab Hall-Victory Treasure has banked close to $650,000 to date for the partnership of Christina Takter, Brixton Medical AB, Goren Falk and John And Jim Fielding.
