The betting public was all over in Warrawee Roo in Monday’s $34,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park, and the OSS graduate didn’t disappoint his army of pari-mutuel backers.
Warrawee Roo got away fifth in the seven-horse affair while Cue Hall and Dunbar Hall took turns on the lead through fractions of :27.3, 55.2 and 1:24.3. Warrawee Roo picked up a position in the backstretch, and then proceeded to go first-over around the final turn. He used a :28.3 closing quarter to prevail by three-quarters of a length over Wild And Crazy Guy in 1:53.3. Taking home the show dough was Dunbar Hall.
Luc Blais trains the five-year-old son of Majestic Son-Karoon for Determination of Montreal, QC. It was the first win of the season from three attempts, and it went down as the seventh triumph of his career. The $17,000 payday lifted his lifetime earnings to $446,613.
