Z Tam Stables and Dave McCaffrey’s Kissed By The Sun put together a fierce rally in deep stretch for driver Jim Morand and came away with a 1:54.1 triumph in the $18,000 Mares Open Pace at Harrington Raceway.

The five-year-old Sportsmaster mare settled off the pace early behind a hot pace set by Fleeting Flirt N. Chancey Lady gathered in the pacesetter approaching three quarters as Kissed By The Sun followed Ash Larue into contention. Kissed By The Sun catapulted to the lead in the final strides en route to the half-length win over Chancey Lady. Ash Larue was third.

It was the fifth win of the year for the Dave McCaffrey trainee, who kicked back $62.40 to her backers. It was one of four victories on the card for Jim Morand.
