Management at The Raceway at Western Fair District has reported a significant increase in the number of nominations for this year’s City of London Series.
The total number of nominations was 172 this year compared to 121 last season. The pacing divisions show the largest increase over last year with 59 nominations for both the male and female divisions.
Trotting colts and geldings showed an increase as well with 33 nominations in total.
Listed below are the number of nominations per division:
Colt and Gelding Pace - 59 (31 in 2018)
Filly and Mare Pace - 59 (42 in 2018)
Colt and Gelding Trot - 33 (27 in 2018)
Filly and Mare Trot - 21 (21 in 2018)
The series is for Ontario-sired horses that are non-winners of $10,000 lifetime as of Feb. 28. Eliminations are set to begin on Wednesday, May 22.
Four divisions will take place with all four finals scheduled as part of the rich Camluck Classic night.
Horsepeople and fans alike are reminded that the Camluck Classic moves back to its traditional Friday time slot this year and is scheduled for Friday, May 31.
