On Sunday, April 2, a pair of full brothers won back to back races on the same card with their same trainer in the bike for both victories.
John MacKinnon had driving double during Rosecroft Raceway’s Sunday card. So did Timmy Offut, Allan Davis – who swept the late double – and Justin Vincent.
What made MacKinnon's two-bagger different from the others? He guided full brothers, a year apart, to wins in back-to-back races. In Race 4, MacKinnon and three-year-old Little TJ parlayed a second-over trip to a win by just over three lengths in 1:56.4
In Race 5, MacKinnon sent four-year-old JW Renegade, who has been a stone-cold closer most of his career, three wide around the first turn to the lead and never looked back. The duo stopped the timer in 1:52.4. Both winners are offspring of Pacific Renegade out of the out of the Three Olives mare Honey.
Kim Vincent drove Rock N Roll Jet to a gate-to-wire win the $10,000 Open Handicap. Buddy Bright trains and co-owns the winner with Dawn Webb. McKenry (driven by Bret Brittingham) was second and Concert Artist (Billy Carter) was third.
Live racing continues Tuesday night at 6:40.
