Cash Poor parlayed the pocket ride to victory in Sunday’s feature at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.

The eight-year-old gelded son of Cash Hall drew post position four in the $11,000 Winners Over Trot and was situated into the pocket spot in the early going by driver Jim Devaux. No Recess (Jordan Derue), who blasted out to the early lead in a sizzling first quarter clocked in :26.4, held strong until mid-stretch when he was reeled in by Cash Poor, who took full advantage of the 1-1/16 mile distance in the feature. No Recess held on for second while Stirling Cadet (Frank Coppola Jr.) earned the show spot.

Tee win was the third of the season already at the Spa for Cash Poor and his second victory in the Winners Over. The Harry Reddick Jr.-trained trotter, who is owned by the Traylor Racing Stable of Ballston Spa, New York, returned $8.10 to win and led an exacta and triple that paid $68.50 and $170.50, respectively.

The time for the 1-1/16 mile trot was 2:04.2 on a windy and cold April afternoon in the Spa City.
