Odds-on favourite Cenalta Call Girl came off cover rounding the final turn and put a nose in front of pacesetter War Filly to take the $9,400 Fillies and Mares Preferred 3 Pace at Flamboro Downs on Saturday, April 27.
War Filly held an uncontested lead through fractions of :27.4 and :57.3. Howmacfiesty pulled from third into the backstretch on the second circuit and ranged to within a length of the lead while Cenalta Call Girl tipped off the rail from fifth moving to a 1:27.1 third quarter.
Cenalta Call Girl continued to gain ground circling the final turn and kicked into the stretch three lengths off leader War Filly. The five-year-old Allamerican Merlin mare inched closer to the leader through the stretch and hit the wire a nose better than War Filly in 1:56. Pocket-sitter Twenty Three Red took third.

Owned by Dr. Steve Taylor and trainer Pam Forgie, Cenalta Call Girl won her fourth race from 15 starts this season and her 19th from 60 overall, earning $118,058. Robert Shepherd drove the $2.80 winner.
