The early Pick 4 on Woodbine Racetrack's Monday program continues to grow in popularity. This week’s pool reached a seasonal high of $54,767.00, marking the first time it has surpassed $50,000 so far in 2010
.
The largest payout of the week came on Friday night in the last race when longshot Awesome Beauty won and triggered a $1 superfecta worth $15,262.00.
Speed was also on display Saturday night with Last Call Hanover equaling the national season’s record of 1:49.3 in race eight. That mark was subsequently lowered two races later when O’Brien Award winner Bigtime Ball stopped the clock in 1:49.
