It wasn’t long ago that five-year-old Solano was a $25,000 claimer, but seven races later the five-year-old completed his ascent through the conditioned ranks with a 1:52.2 win in the $23,000 Open at Harrington Raceway
.
Owned by Johnny Waite and Wade & Kathleen Wyatt, Solano has won five of seven races for his new connections since being claimed for $25,000 on March 1. Solano made a quarter pole move to the front for driver Mike Cole in Monday’s assignment and never looked back en route to a two-length win over Art Gram and Arizona Liar.
Driver Ross Wolfenden won five races on the program. Corey Callahan had a driving triple.
