There has been quite a bit of hype in the horse racing industry surrounding the HBO series pilot 'Luck,' which boasts a strong group of Hollywood elite both in front and behind the camera. It has now been announced that another horse racing project is in the works
.
Although, the recently-announced project will be a film, not a television pilot, and will be an independent venture according to a report by variety.com.
The independent film 'And They're Off' will feature Sean Astin and Cheri Oteri, and will also include Martin Mull, Mark Moses, Gigi Rice, Lil' JJ, Peter Jacobson, Mo Collins, Alex Rocco, Luis Chavez and Kevin Nealon.
The article also states that the film is to be a comedy based in the thoroughbred racing world and that thoroughbred trainers Bob Baffert and Doug O'Neill are scheduled to be playing themselves.
The film is to be directed by Rob Schiller of King of Queens and Two and a Half Men fame.
