After a steady string of runner-up finishes, Gonnabe An Ottlaw finally found his way to the winner's circle in Grand River Raceway’s Monday night feature.

The nine-year-old son of Angus Hall and driver Mike Langdon left from the rail and laid down fractions of :29, :59.4 and 1:29 en route to wiring the field in 2:00. It was a pair of lengths back to runner-up Apeachtoremember, with Sturdy Motion rounding out the top three.

Owned and trained by Kim Matthews of Belwood, ON, Gonnabe An Ottlaw won for the 23rd time in his career. He has banked more than $279,000 to date.
