Trot Insider learned that Alberta Downs was forced to scrap its final race on Sunday due to a nasty weather system that blew into the area
near the end of the 10-race program.
“A snow squall blew in, and within a short period of time visibility was very poor,” said Shannon “Sugar” Doyle, track announcer at Albert Downs. “The track condition worsened and horsemen and racing officials deemed the racing conditions unsafe, so the final race was canceled.”
Racing is scheduled to return on Saturday, May 2 at 1:00 p.m.
