Worth waiting on are three words that might be best used to describe pacing filly Hello Love, who won her sophomore – and pari-mutuel - debut Thursday evening at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Purchased for $100,000 from the 2016 Harrisburg Yearling Sale, the filly failed to make it to the races last season for trainer Mark Steacy who had to be pleased with what he saw from her in her first kick at the can.

Taking on nine foes in a $14,000 conditioned affair, Hello Love got away seventh from Post 1 for driver James MacDonald, who watched Enchanted Eva carve out panels of :28.2, :58 and 1:26.3. MacDonald has his charge driving first-over in the middle stages of the mile, and she powered home in :27.4 to win by 1-1/4 lengths over race favourite Cardiff in 1:54.3. B Fifteen was third.

The daughter of Shadow Play-Dont Point At is owned by Landmark 10 Racing Stable, J And T Silva Stables LLC, Bertrand Gilhespy Stable and Conrad Leber.

If all goes well for the pacing lass she could find herself butting heads with one of the deepest group of three-year-old pacing fillies in recent memory in the Ontario Sires Stakes program. The likes of Percy Bluechip, Kendall Seelster, Firestorm and Play The Bell are among the top lasses in the division.
