With every possible variable going his way six year old trotter Mccoy made the most of the situation to capture the $15,000 Open Handicap Trot at the Isle Casino Racing on the Monday evening April 26 program

Before the start, the notoriously high anxiety and heavily favoured Baseball Express went off stride and that public choice was out of contention early as his search for a fourth straight win in South Florida's top weekly class was ended quickly.
Leaving the gate strongest to establish command was Tom Cango with Dan Clements in the bike and they posted the first three fractions in :28, :58, and 1:26.3. Lurking in the pocket all the way was Mccoy with Wally Hennessey in tow. Just before the field straightened out for home, Mccoy was shown clear track and sailed home to stop the clock in 1:55.4. After a following trip in third position, PC Moonshine in rein to Walter Ross, Jr. brushed up widest of all for the place prize in a narrow decision over Tom Cango.
Trainer Dan Hennessey thus strengthened his bid for both the dash and cash titles for the 2009-2010 season at Pompano. He conditions Mccoy, a six-year-old Yankee Mccoy-Celebrity Connie gelding for Loxahatchee, FL owner John Campagnuolo. On this night, Mccoy had an equipment change from an open to blind bridle and his pocket trip conversion was his third third win in 13 starts in 2010 to push this year’s earnings to more than $33,000.
Cimarron Hall Undefeated
Three-year-old colt trotter Cimmaron Hall is undefeated in his first two starts of 2010 after a narrow decision over Admirable Hanover in a non-winners of two event on the April 26 program.
The son of Tom Ridge-Canland Hall was given a pocket trip by Frode Fladen to score in 2:00.3. Doug Miller has taken over the training duties from Ray Schnittker on the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes hopeful. In his first start back on April 9 he was a winner in 2:00 with owner Maurizio Biasuzzi of Ft. Pierce, FL in the bike on that occasion. Cimmaron Hall, a half-brother to $1.4 million winner Cantab Hall, was a $95,000 purchase at the 2007 Harrisburg Sale.
Ranger Departs For Tioga Downs
Bruce Ranger, the winningest driver in the 46-year history of Pompano Park, has shipped north for summer season competition at Tioga Downs in New York State along with his stable's trainer of record, Stewart Nemiro. Ranger departs South Florida as the track's top driver again this year.
Tioga is a new destination for Ranger in the summer months due to the discontinuation of racing at Rockingham Park, where several of his 2009 stable members such as Silvers Luck and Kid Conway were winners just before shipping to Pompano last September.
Ranger amassed 223 wins in the bike from 1,012 drives at Pompano during the 2009-2010 campaign for purse earnings of almost $1,2 million. Though Wally Hennessey recorded a triple on the April 26 program, Ranger still leads by 39 wins in the drivers' dash title chase. Hennessey would need to win over $160,000 in purses by the end of the current meet on May 22 to catch Ranger for the drivers' cash earnings title.
