Commission Chair Killed In Auto Accident

It has been reported that a horse racing commission chairman from the United States was killed in a traffic accident on Thursday, April 24.

According to an article by The New Orleans Advocate, LRC Chairman Jerry Meaux, 74, was driving his pickup truck in Acadian Parish in Louisiana when another truck crossed the centre median and collided with his vehicle.

The report states that Meaux was declared dead at the scene and that the driver of the other vehicle, Blaire Duhon, 22, has been charged with vehicular homicide.

Meaux had been the chair of the LRC since his appointment in 2008.
