Driver Brett Miller reached another coveted career milestone on Saturday (April 24) at Miami Valley Raceway, capturing his 9,000th win when taking the afternoon's the 10th race.

In the tightest of photo finishes, Miller guided Water Sports Teen to a short-nose score over Red Power in a conditioned event for non-winners of four races or $40,000. It was the third win on the day for the 47-year-old purple-and-white-clad reinsman.

Brett Millers’ career began in 1991 with a single drive. He recorded just one win in 1992 and four in 1993 before his career shifted into high gear. Since 2000, Miller has won over 200 races for 21 straight years with his highest win total 639 in 2004. He has earned over $1 million in purses each of those 21 years, including nine years with over $5 million.

The affable Miller has driven some of the best horses in the sport over the past two decades for some of the sport’s top trainers. He spent over a decade on the east coast before returning to his roots in Ohio in 2018, where he has won over 1,067 races in just over two years since.

Miller has won a dash title at both Miami Valley and Hollywood Dayton Raceway since his return to Ohio. There’s likely more of those in store as he moves toward the next plateau—10,000 wins.
