It has been reported that a man has filed a lawsuit in regard to an incident where he was hit in the head by one of the wings of a starting gate car and knocked unconscious.

According to an article by the Morning Sentinel, Christopher Charrier was struck in the head and shoulder by the gate during the incident, which took place at Maine’s Windsor Fairgrounds in September 2010.

The report states that Charrier, 43, was not the only one injured in the accident, as four other spectators had been treated at the scene and taken to local hospital.

According to his attorney, Jason Jabar, Charrier “probably sustained the most severe injury and was knocked unconscious.” The lawyer added that Charrier’s medical bills due to the incident are approaching $100,000.
