An elite group of 45 horses remain eligible to the 30th edition of the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup, one of standard racing's most prestigious events and Canada’s richest harness race.

The one-mile pace for three-year-olds, set for Mohawk Racetrack, is scheduled for Saturday, June 15.

Headlining the 2013 crop of nominees is Captaintreacherous, who last season became the first two-year-old to record three victorious sub-1:50 miles, including the Metro Pace and Woodrow Wilson.

The champion two-year-old in both Canada and the United States last year is trained by Tony Alagna and driven by Tim Tetrick.

The bay son of 2008 Pepsi North America Cup winner Somebeachsomewhere recorded eight wins last season and banked $911,687 in earnings.

Rockin Amadeus, who scored the upset victory in the last years Breeders Crown, and Wake Up Peter, who finished second in the race, are also being pointed to the ‘Cup.’

Others named to the race that may be noted on a Top 10 list of contenders include Odds On Equuleus and Apprentice Hanover.

The final sustaining payment for the race is due on May 15.
