Vlahos pulled off a wire-to-wire stunner in the $25,000 Open Trot on Wednesday, April 23, at Harrington Raceway.

Driven by Montrell Teague, the seven-year-old Dusty Winner–Do We Lindy gelding fired off the gate from post two and never looked back, cruising to a one-length victory in 1:56.2. Speed Away (Corey Callahan) closed late for second, while Wily Wally (Troy Beyer) rounded out the top three.

The win marked the sixth of the season for Vlahos and his first since being claimed on March 18. He is trained by John Dixon and owned by Tyler Long of Salisbury, Maryland. The upset victory returned a healthy $34.40 to his backers.

Teague, Harrington’s defending driving champion, had a big night with four wins, matching Corey Callahan, who also posted a grand slam. Cody Poliseno notched a hat trick with three driving wins on the card.

Live racing continues at Harrington Raceway on a Monday-through-Wednesday schedule, with a first post time of 4:30 p.m.
