Meadowlands Racetrack kicks off its Championship Meet on Friday, May 2, with live harness racing every Friday and Saturday night with a 6:20 pm post time. The Championship Meet features more than $8 million in stakes races and event-filled weekends.
Each live race night, fans can enter Horseplay. Fans can pick up a free horse at the promotions table and throw the horse into the car for a chance to win $100 USD and an entry into the Friday, Aug. 1 drawing for a brand new 2025 Toyota GR86.
On Saturday, May 3, Meadowlands will offer an exciting day and night of simulcast and live racing action, including the simulcast of the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby from Churchill Downs. Fans are encouraged to wear their best fascinator or hat to win $1,000 USD in the Derby Hat Contest. Afternoon dining for both the Lounge and the outdoor Café can be purchased by clicking here.
On Saturday, May 10, Meadowlands Racetrack will host Chicken Runs. Participants will don inflatable chicken and rooster costumes and race to the finish line for a chance to win $250 USD. Adults and kids are both welcome to compete. Online registration is required.
The track’s monthly handicapping contest schedule continues on Friday, May 16. There is no entry fee (a $100 USD live money bankroll is required) for players, and the prize pool, guaranteed at $1,000 USD and funded by the track, will be paid out to the top four finishers.
On Saturday, May 17, the track has combined two fan favourite food truck events, the BBQ Extravaganza and the Best Burger Battle, into one outrageous event, the Battle of the Meats. Attendees can chow down on some delicious BBQ and burgers from the best food trucks and restaurants in the area. This pay-as-you-go event is from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., with live racing beginning at 6:20 p.m. Fans can also vote for their favourite food truck and enter to win a space at the judge’s table.
Highlighting Saturday, May 31 are the Dwarfanators! Attendees can watch Los Mini Enmascarados (Mini Masked Wrestlers) perform the unique Mexican Cultural Art of Lucha Libre in the Backyard ring. The performers will show off their flying aerials, scissor kicks and wheelbarrow holds, and fight to become champions. Don’t miss this dynamic cultural spectacle performance by certified Lucha Libre wrestlers. This family-friendly event starts at 7 p.m., and doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are just $20 USD in advance or $25 USD at the door and can be purchased by clicking here.
