Scarlet Pandemic made good use of the rail Tuesday in her upset win in the featured $18,000 Mares Open at Harrington Raceway in 1:55.
Trained by co-owner Frank Gannon III and driven by George Dennis, the five-year-old Panderosa mare started from post one and received a two-hole trip behind pacesetter Madges Lil Fortune before surging in the stretch to hold off a late charge from Rock N Load for the win. Fleeting Flirt N was third.
Joan Gannon and Frank Gannon Jr. are the remaining owners on Scarlet Pandemic, who won her fifth race of the season. She paid $18.80.
Jim Morand had four wins on the program. George Dennis had three winners, while Ross Wolfenden and Victor Kirby each had two.
