Outlawpositivcharg will help re-launch the 2010 harness racing season Saturday afternoon at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park when he takes on seven competitors in the feature race.
First-race post time for the 12-dash card is 1:00 p.m.
Outlawpositivcharg, a six-year-old pacer recently named horse of the year at the Prince County Horseman's Club awards, has drawn Post 7 for owner Fred Lamont of Calgary, Alberta and regular pilot Terry Gallant.
Pans O Silver, owned by Alex MacPhee, Cornwall, will leave inside from post 6 for driver Brodie MacPhee.
The field also includes rail-sitter Largo Hall and Ron Matheson for owners Lawson and Ken MacPherson, Charlottetown, Cyclone Duharas, a newcomer from Rideau Carlton in Ottawa for Andrew and Allan Moore, Porthill Alf, who won his qualifier in 2:00.3 for owner Marvyn Webster. Webster has handed the driving duties to Corey MacPherson. Other starters include McHales Gravy with Mark Bradley and Louie Fernandez for Vince Poulton.
Another horse from the Lamont stable has the backstretch talking. Notacent Tobemade will make his Charlottetown debut in Race 6. The four-year-old son of As Promised won his qualifier by seven lengths with a :28 second-last quarter.
The first card after the break will showcase a number of new horses to the grounds. Southern Pee Wee arrives from Windsor Raceway for Ralph, Kenneth and David Sweet of O'Leary and moves into the highly competitive $3,000 claimer ranks along with Southwind Halite for the Patrick Murphy stable of Augustine Cove. Super Kitty is a new purchase for Harold Culleton, Ellerslie. Watch for newcomers such as Huthinson Hanover, from the Darren Trainer stable, Raging Leru for Gary Chappell and PW Fiesty.
