Every Day Dan Drubs Rivals In Harrington Open

Every Day Dan, caught on the wire in his Harrington Raceway return a week ago, this time pulled away down the lane and cruised to a three-length victory in the the track's $30,822 Open Handicap Trot on Wednesday, April 22.

He left alertly from post three for Mike Cole to cut the mile for the second straight start, carving out fractions of :28.3, :58.3 and 1:27.1. With the first-over Greenspan (Art Stafford Jr.) giving chase in the stretch, Every Dan Dan drew off to an open-length win in 1:55.2. Greenspan held second over Dyladmar (Russell Foster). 

Trained by Joe Columbo, Every Day Dan took his third win of the season in 14 outings. The six-year-old Dover Dan-Emerald Bling gelding, owned by George & Tina Dennis Racing, is now 19-for-97 lifetime. He paid $4 to win.

In the $24,658 Open II Trot, Ever Clever ($4.80) stepped up in class and nabbed his second straight victory. Following an upper-level conditioned win last time, the five-year-old Tactical Landing-Hold Her Tight gelding scored by a neck in 1:55.1 for driver Pat Berry, trainer Traci Berry and owners TLB Racing LLC and Dylan Davis Racing.

Crissman Inc.'s Some Waratah A ($10.80) notched his 45th career win in the first race on the card. The 12-year-old Somebeachsomewhere-Lady Waratah gelding was a wire-to-wire winner for trainer Tim Crissman and driver Tony Morgan, improving to 45-for-114 lifetime.

Live racing will continue at Harrington on a Monday-through-Wednesday schedule with post time at 4:30 p.m.
